Peak Support Q&A: Autumn Heard

Autumn is a Subject Matter Expert for one of Peak Support’s long-time clients. She loves cannoli because it reminds her of the Italian bakery where she grew up. If she were to win a million dollars, the first thing she wants to buy is a yellow Mustang with black interior. She is an empathetic, compassionate, and kind introvert who is very proud to admit that she is a die-hard Harry Potter fan. Autumn and her family enjoy visiting a pumpkin patch in the fall to grab their pumpkins and other goodies. Growing up, she dreamed of becoming a baker, so that she and her dad – who’s a chef – can have a restaurant together. When she wants to unwind, Autumn likes to go on walks with her children and playing with them, because it helps keep her centered. If you could live in a different city/state, where would it be?

I currently live in San Diego, California. I moved here last year and have wanted to live here for as long as I can remember.

What is your biggest regret in life?

I don’t really have any regrets. Everything that has happened in my life is part of a greater plan that I might not always understand, but still deeply respect.

Who would you entrust your laundry to?

I currently use a small business for my laundry service. At this point, I would trust them with my life.

Would you ever want to be a part of a reality TV show?

I wouldn’t want to be a part of a reality TV show because I feel it is too intrusive. I value my privacy.

Do you remember your first job?

I started my first job as a waitress at 14. I worked with my father who is a chef at a popular country club where I’m from.

How has motherhood changed your perspective on life?

Motherhood has shown me that it is important to slow down and enjoy life (and what it has to offer). Motherhood stretches you and shows you what you’re really made of, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

What’s something that you will never share with other people?

I do not like to share my food with other people, not even my kids. I would much rather buy someone their own.

If you could travel back in time, who would you like to meet?

I would travel back in time just to meet Whitney Houston in her prime. I’d love to know everything about her life.

Who helps you get back up when you fall down?

I wouldn’t say it is a specific person but more so the idea that if I make it through the day, there is always tomorrow. And tomorrow always holds the opportunity for something new.

Do you prepare a list for when you do your groceries?

I don’t typically have a written grocery list – it is more so mental. I also only do my grocery shopping online to try and reduce waste/over-purchasing.

What is something that you find annoying in other people?

I don’t typically like people who have bad listening skills. I feel like listening is very basic and is learned at an early age. Being an adult with bad listening skills puts you on my list. LOL!

If you only had $10, what would you buy?

I wouldn’t buy anything. I would try and save my $10.

How can people love themselves better?

I think a lot of times people get caught up in focusing on what they don’t have – be that physical or material – and that is what keeps them unhappy or forever unsatisfied. Having gratitude for what you do have, appreciating yourself, and taking the time to just take in what is going on around you is underrated.

My friends love me because _____.

I’m the mom of the group. I keep them balanced; I’m not judgmental, and I’m the vault – secrets are always safe with me. I always have snacks and I’m always the one to tell the waitress if their food is wrong.
