Monica is one of the prettiest faces in the company. But don’t be intimidated by her beauty, as she is as friendly and sweet as they come. She considers seeing her children grow up to be fine, young gentlemen – who have big dreams, moral values, and a good relationship with God, to be the most rewarding part of motherhood. Monica always laughs at her youngest son’s funny antics and her witty repartee with her eldest son. She loves listening to old school hip-hop and R&B, and her favorite movie is Armageddon. Monica relaxes by binge watching Netflix shows and movies, or watching church sermon series or cooking videos on YouTube. If she could go on an all-expense paid trip anywhere, she’d love to go to Paris and sip coffee from the balcony of her hotel, facing the Eiffel Tower. When was the last time you felt really beautiful?

When I woke up this morning. That retinol night cream is really doing its job!

A week-long getaway in a bustling city or a quick weekend vacay in a tropical paradise?

I’d pick the week-long getaway in a bustling city. Since I work remotely, let’s get me some adrenalin from the bright city lights, traffic noise, and people walking hurriedly around. Plus, it’s week long! I wouldn’t trade that for a weekend.

Who do you tell most of your secrets to?

My best friend since youth. She never judged me for my silly mistakes and has always been genuinely happy for me whenever I’m doing good in life.

Where do you go to find peace?

It’s never the place, the person I’m with, or the situation I’m in. I always find peace in the fact that God is in control of my life. In the midst of this world’s chaos and challenges, a quick switch of wise perspective helps me thread my way through a better state of mind.

What’s the funniest prank you’ve ever pulled on anyone?

Pranks are supposed to be done by you and TO YOU. I wouldn’t want the latter. So I prefer to just laugh along. Let’s avoid the backfire!

How good of a driver are you?

I’ve been driving since I was 16. During my younger years, my friends and I would aim to drive at 200 kph. Nowadays, I prefer to have the time of my life on the passenger’s seat. But yes, I’m a good driver – but bad with directions though.

If you could open up a business, what would it be?

A food business. I’ve always wanted to make use of my flair and passion for cooking.

Is there something that you wish your 18-year-old self knew more of?

I wish I knew that joy and purpose are more important than blissful happiness.

What fun, bonding activities do you like to do with your kids?

Quick vacation out of town, eating out, and watching them play video games are the usuals. Although, as a mother, every single minute of being around them doing nothing is as equally valuable as spending an hour doing all those fun stuff.

Top 5 things you want to accomplish before you turn 50.

1. Finish a culinary course.
2. Put up a food business.
3. Travel to Paris.
4. Visit San Francisco again but this time with my kids.
5. Acquire a home with a view of the city lights.

What’s something that makes you feel anxious?

I rarely feel anxious nowadays but mostly I feel anxiously excited whenever I get to travel to a place I’ve never been to.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how friendly are you?

By default, I’d say a 7 or 8. I can be a 10 when I’m already comfortable with the person. Small talk is not really my cup of tea. I prefer a sensible and warm conversation most of the time.

If you found the fountain of youth, would you tell the world about it?

Yes, definitely! People are never cranky when they feel lively and good about themselves. Imagine a world where everyone’s vibe is just positive and happy.

What’s the best Christmas present anyone’s ever given you?

A wallet from my children. It’s actually worn out already but I still use it up to now because it’s given to me by the best people in my life.
