Peak Support Q&A: Whitney Collurafici
Whitney, our Director of Client Services, likes to start her day with a nice cup of coffee. She and her family love going to theme parks in the summer. So expect to see them line up at Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens for the roller coaster ride and other exhilarating amusement rides. The way that Peak Support values its team members, encourages them to be authentic, and celebrates their individuality are what Whitney believes set Peak Support apart from other companies. When it comes to food, one of her favorites is the delicious Arroz con Pollo served at La Carreta. If you’re fond of reading and are a fan of the Harry Potter and the Lord of the Rings movies, then you already have a few things in common with Whitney. What else does she enjoy doing? Kayaking. Because she just loves how peaceful it is. Read on to get to know Whitney more.
Is there an extreme sport/activity that you would like to try?
I have bungee jumped before and it was amazing! So, I will go with cliff diving because I think it’s a more extreme version of bungee jumping and the one I am most likely to go through with.
Are you more realistic or idealistic?
I’m more realistic because I tend to think about all possible outcomes and scenarios.
If you could have one happy memory on repeat, what would it be?
It would be my first driving lesson. My grandfather set up traffic cones in the driveway and put me on his riding lawnmower to teach me how to maneuver around them. It was so much fun and would be a perfect repeat memory because it’s a reminder of all the good things I experienced with my grandfather.
What’s the worst physical pain you’ve ever experienced?
Labor. But it is why I have my son, so it was all worth it.
Have you ever been on a hot air balloon ride?
I have and loved it! The views are amazing and its actually a pretty smooth trip.
What do you always have a lot of in your refrigerator?
Coffee creamer. Because I cannot go without it for my morning cup of coffee.
If you could have a peek into your future, would you take it?
No because I wouldn’t want it to influence the decisions I make in the present.
What always brings joy to your life?
Spending time with my family. Life is short so I enjoy spending time with my loved ones.
Are you an open book?
Yes. I will share my life experiences with others because I hope it gives people who may not be as open, to have someone to relate to or open the door for them to feel comfortable and also have someone they can talk to and rely on.
How often do you meet up with family?
All the time! I actually live just 10 minutes away from my family, so we are together all the time. For larger gatherings we meet up more frequently in the spring and summer. We love going to the lake to swim and have a cookout – firepits at night.
What is your number one rule before buying anything?
I often ask myself: is it worth the price? If it isn’t something I need or could use long term, I tend not to spend the money. Now if it’s for my son, all the rules tend to go out the window!
On a scale of 1 to 10, how independent are you?
I’m an 8. I am very independent. I like to be able to do and accomplish things on my own.
Who always inspires you to go after your dreams?
My husband.
Please describe what your weekends are usually like.
Me and my family either spend it outdoors at the park or complete some other activity, or we just stay home and do absolutely nothing. There is never an in-between.
What do you think is the secret to happiness?
Meaningful connections. For me, that is my family and the relationship I have with them.
